IGD expands the offer at Esp shopping centre in Ravenna with a new IKEA plan and order point

IGD – Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione SIIQ S.p.A. announces the expanded offering of its ESP Shopping Centre in Ravenna with the opening of an IKEA plan and order point.

The new store covers a GLA of 120 square meters and is the second IKEA plan and order point in the IGD network, following the opening of a similar store at La Favorita Shopping Centre in Mantua in February 2025. With IKEA’s plan-and-order point, ESP visitors will have the opportunity to access personalised consultancy services and, at the same time, be inspired by a selection of furnishing solutions. Additionally, they can shop online from the entire IKEA range and choose the delivery method that best suits their needs.

With the opening of IKEA, the ESP Shopping Centre, one of IGD’s largest and most attractive centres, now has 97 stores. IGD opened it in 1998, substantially renovated it in 2012, and significantly expanded it in 2017, more than doubling the number of stores. Today, the centre covers a GLA of 33,150 square metres and has obtained the BREEAM In-Use Excellent environmental certification.

ESP’s offering is diversified and constantly updated. In 2025, leading brands such as JD Sports, Bottega Verde, Legami, DM, Dadi e Mattoncini opened their stores in the centre. The recently renovated food court has also been expanded to include brands such as Dispensa Emilia, La Piadineria and Segafredo. Visitors can also shop at a 16,500-square-meter GLA Extracoop hypermarket.

Laura Poggi, Leasing, Digital & Innovation Director of IGD, commented: “We are proud to open the second IKEA plan and order point right in the ESP Shopping Centre, thus welcoming another international brand. This centre has become a landmark for its local area thanks to a broad, cross-cutting, and constantly evolving offering, which makes it attractive to leading Italian and international tenants, as confirmed by the recent opening. Over the years, ESP has seen extensive restyling and significant expansion, including a recent renovation of the food court. The ongoing progress is evident in rising tenants’ turnover and steadily increasing footfall. The restyling plan is moving forward with a strong emphasis on innovation and sustainability to deliver a richer retail experience for visitors. The renovation will continue with additional work on the food court and new openings planned for 2026, a strategic path we will continue to support, also through the entry of new tenants.”
